Is there any way for an amateur to tell what sex her hamsters are?I know a person who has 2 hamsters and keeps them in the same cage which I feel is a recipe for disaster.I’m going to follow your replies.
go to a vet and maybe they can help.
well I’m not totally sure but my neighbours brought some up, u have to split the mother and father up cos the father will harm the babies, and not touch the baby’s at all till they are bout three weeks old x even if they look like their all fight in and u jus wan2 pick them up xxx jus make sure they have a box where they all can play together, my neighbours babys when they were 2 weeks played on the wheel how cute!!!
Watch her very carefully. Mine used to lift the lid and let her babies escape. We’d see random hamsters running across the lawn sometimes. We lived in the country, but it was still wierd.
Don’t touch them and take the male out! She will do the rest!
give her little tiny books to read to them
take the father out, leave her alone with her babies, But dont forget to take her out like normal (be careful not to touch the babies)so she can destress from the nagging of the babies. Dont keep her out too long. Shell eat her babies if you bug too much
