what kinds of parenting classes are there for pregnant teens?

Brandon asked:

I recently found out that i got my gf pregnant. We’re both 17 and neither of our parents know yet. We want to keep the baby (of course), so what kind of can help the 2 of us through this? We both graduate this May, and we were planning to go to college–will a parenting class help us manage a baby and school? Thanks!!
sorry for the typo…i meant to say:

Go ask Jamie Lynn Spears!! Nah, just kidding. But on the real, u want to tell your parents as soon as possible. I’m sure they would want to help u. You kids are going to need them. Second, go to your local social services center. They have great resources for parenting classes and things. And Good Luck!!!!

Go to planned parenthood, they teach you how to use condoms…

I would try to google it in your area, I’ve never heard of that type of classes, try your church, or maybe even talking to a counselor in your school.

    Try here-
Each center may be a little different, but typically you’re eligible to get various supplies- diapers, bottles, etc.- when you complete the course. They can also provide free prenatal care.
    Best wishes!

you both sound very mature, congrats on the decision to go to college while handling a baby! I wish you all the luck in the world

many colleges have daycare programs and stuff, I suggest asking your guidance councilor at your high school about the best baby-friendly colleges and programs you can take before you go, they’re usually pretty knowledgeable about stuff like that, and if they don’t know it’s part of their job to find out!

Wow, how mature are you to be asking this question.. Koods to you!!

First tell your parents for they are your first line of help.. Or should be.. I suggest that you have all four parents meet you two at a crowded restrant. Give them cards for Valentine’s Day that say To my Grandma, Grandpa..

One they can not yell in a crowed place and two it shows them the exicetment you and your girl have for the baby..

Then you can call your local hospital and ask about parenting classes, for all hospitals have them. Breastfeeding also. You can also contact the local WIC Office for they offer parenting class for teenagers there..
